Trainee Lettings Consultant Role

Location: Based at Westerfield Business Centre, Ipswich Suffolk.

Hours: 37 Hours per week

Starting salary: £13,221.00 – £17,742.00 to include petrol allowance

You will be working in a busy, fast-paced office environment at Westerfield Business Centre, just outside Ipswich town centre (free parking) within a small team. Ambition is welcomed and will be recognised and nurtured within our small, family friendly and flexible team. A further role profile is available upon request.

Brief Description of the job to include: (full training will be given)

  • Dealing with HMO tenants face to face and on the phone, meeting them at our properties for viewings, move in and move out appointments.
  • Organising property administration such a deposit protections, preparing inventories and preparing documents for digital signatures.
  • Conducting house inspections
  • Organising tradesmen and cleaners to attend appointments and deal with issues within our property portfolio.
  • Liaising with landlords to organise payments of utility bills.
  • Preparation of landlord rent statements.
  • 10 hours CPD to be completed per year for our governing body (online)

Working hours

You will be expected to work 37 hours per week which will be spread out over four set weekdays and you will be expected to work one evening per week from home covering the on call phone and one weekend in 3 on a rota system. Evening work involves working from home to answer any queries from prospective tenants and any emergency issues from existing tenants. Weekend work consists of approximately 5 hours over the duration of the weekend working from home although there will be the occasional on site appointments to attend to.

No previous experience in lettings or administration is required, as full training will be provided with support to continue personal development in this role. All we ask is that you come eager to learn and the desire to do the job to the best of your ability to fit in with the existing hard working team. Prior experience and confidence in a customer service environment is essential and the ability to understand and use computer systems once training has been given on the software we use. Owning your own car and phone is essential to this role.
